Sauna & Your Brain…

Hope you’re having a calm start to the year…

While we’re out there stoking the fire we often talk a lot about how sauna helps you feel better — calmer, clearer, more grounded. So true. But there’s also growing research showing it may also help protect the brain over the long term.

Regular sauna use has been linked to a lower risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia (some studies suggest up to 66% lower!🤯), especially when sauna is done consistently and at higher traditional temperatures. Improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and cardiovascular health all play a role — and the brain benefits from all of it.

We found this short video that explains it beautifully:

We keep our sauna between 185–200°F on purpose. This range reflects traditional Nordic sauna practices and supports many of the benefits discussed in the video — not to push limits, but to create meaningful, restorative (and preventative!) heat.

Sauna isn’t about extremes. It’s about showing up, slowing down, and doing something good for yourself — again and again.

Hoping to make this Winter a celebration of slowing down, infusing brightness, and supporting brain health.
